We are Spokane’s professional ballet company. Our mission is to provide the Inland Northwest with professional caliber dancers, capable of presenting the classics as well as contemporary choreography, to collaborate with other professional arts organizations and to encourage appreciation of the dance arts by educating and developing participants as well as spectators.

Officially organized in August 2003, we are governed by a board of qualified, concerned business and arts leaders. The artistic director has a professional performing and directing background as well as a twenty-year history of bringing top rate dance entertainment to Spokane audiences.

Over the next five years, the company plans to hire a total of six resident professional dancers, augmented by professional guest artists and local dancers of pre-professional caliber.

Ballet Spokane presents a regular season of ballets and dance concerts at the Central Valley Performing Arts Center, located on the Central Valley High School Campus, the Fox Theater, InterPlayers and other area venues, plus an interactive, lecture-demonstration series in area schools.

Ballet Spokane is the resident ballet company for Spokane Coeur d'Alene Opera and the dancers enhance the cultural offerings of many other arts organizations.

The company holds annual auditions for professional corps and apprentice dancers. Special auditions are held for local, pre-professional dancers as individual show needs require.
