Welcome to Ballet Spokane. For the past five years Ballet Spokane has been presenting professional ballet to Spokane audiences. As Board Chair of Ballet Spokane I am excited to be a part of what I feel has been and will continue to be a much needed addition to the Spokane Community.

The continued success of Ballet Spokane depends on many different people working on different aspects of the company. The performers spend hours rehearsing for specific performances as well as many hours in classes, advancing their skills. The Artistic Director not only spends hours in the rehearsal studio preparing the performers, she must first dedicate time and energy to choreographing before she meets with the performers. Along with the performers and director, many other individuals are involved with bringing a single performance together.

There are groups of individuals involved who do not work on the performances, but without them the company could not produce shows, they are the Board of Directors and Guild. The Guild’s purpose is to support Ballet Spokane’s mission through volunteers who donate their time, talent, and love in a variety of ways. The Boards’ responsibilities are to set policy and ensure financial stability for the artists to bring great performances to you, the audience. The Ballet Spokane Board, like many other successful Boards, is made up of both "non-artist" and “artist” individuals. The "non-artists" are business owners and active community leaders who have a love for the arts and want Spokane community members to have the opportunity to experience professional dance.
